CSBA Fall Newsletter, the California Shorthorn Herald published to the website.

The CSBA Fall Newsletter was published on October 15, 2010 and is now available for your viewing pleasure on the Newsletter portion of the website.

You'll notice that the name has changed from Shorthorn Quarterly to California Shorthorn Herald.  As part of the ongoing effort to update the newsletter and improve it, we wanted to represent ourselves as the voice of California Shorthorn breeders and the California Shorthorn industry.  A Herald is "someone who carries or proclaims important news".  Also, we wanted to get away from the time restraints of Quarterly and be able to publish when ever we needed.

I hope you all enjoy the very first edition that includes the name change. Here are some things to look out for:

  • A new classified section that is free to members and $10.00 to non members.  Needs to reach the California Shorthorn family? Call or send an email to Tim Whitfield, editor of the Shorthorn Herald and get your message in front of our newsletter readers.
  • Space for advertisements.  Do you need more space to get your message in front of our readers?  We have just the thing.  We are selling advertising spots in the newsletter, with special rates for members.  All of the proceeds from these sales help offset the cost of production and sending out this newsletter.  Call or send an email to Tim Whitfield if you are interested.
  • 8 pages of California Shorthorn news.
  • An article by Mike Bennett, of Bennett Land and Cattle Co from Ducor, CA who is currently serving the American Shorthorn Association Board of Directors.
  • An article on the Spring Picnic
  • and much more!!!

Check it out by going to our Newsletter section.
